Golf

Golf

Nearly every city in America has its golf courses, long green rolling hills and flat fairways with sculptured trees and groomed putting greens, rimmed with the unkempt grounds.  Early morning golfers walk along, bags on shoulder trying to get in a few holes before work; evening players roll along in carts on the back of the course hurrying to finish before sundown.

It is somewhat overwhelming to think that people have been participating in golf since 1413.  For hundreds of years golfing societies and clubs have built courses and groomed links for the elite who could take the great amount of time to play golf.

Today exclusive golf clubs still exist; however, the average athlete or golf buff can still swing his clubs once or twice a week for a reasonable fee at one of the many beautiful public courses.  This is also a sport that the family can enjoy together, a leisurely skill that is quite conducive to casual talk and technical play.

Tennis

Tennis

The game of tennis when played properly, has a certain aesthetic and picturesque quality that distinguishes it from other sports.  The fluidity of motion and grace of execution that the player radiate, racket in hand, eye intent on the ball as it approaches them over the net, can truly be termed "art in motion."

At times the action can be fast and furious, and the suspense may grow to a breathless pitch during a long rally which can end with either a superbly executed drop-shot or a desperate lunge that, by luck, becomes a successful point-gain.

Tennis is both enjoyable and a good form of exercise.
